My go-to lipgloss (under $3.50!)

This lipgloss is always in my bag: NYC Color Cityproof Extended Wear Lipgloss in Round the Clock Ruby. The name doesn’t lie: it’s perfect for pulling together your makeup look day or night with just the right pop of berry-red. And it lasts, unlike most glosses! Best of all: it retails for $3.49! I found mine at Duane Reade drugstore in NYC; find a store near you here: http://newyorkcolor.com/products/lips/lipgloss/8hr-city-proof-gloss

You’ll want to wear this denim shirt ($24.95) every Friday

I love the low-key glamour of denim (obviously), and this effortlessly sexy H&M shirt ($24.95) embodies that aesthetic. It’s perfect for casual Fridays, brunch, getting stuff done around the apartment… or even out on the town with slim pants or a skirt. Somehow I feel sexier in this top than I ever do in an overtly “hot” outfit. Maybe it’s the snap-up front, or how it hugs the curves. Or maybe it’s just that denim magic…

Perfect fall lip & eyeliner – $1.89 a pop!

Am I the last to know that Bed Bath & Beyond carries makeup? Today I stumbled upon the already-affordable Prestige line – and each product was marked down an additional $1.50! Inspired by the plummy shades in the scarf I was wearing (purchased from Urban Outfitters a few years back), I bought a berry lip liner (shade: Auburn) that looked great on (pale) me AND my always-tan friend Judith. Plus, I’ve been wanting to try purplish-blue eyeliner so I snapped up the Prestige pencil in Midnight. Originally $3.39, with the discount these liners came to $1.89 apiece. Now that’s making out like a (berry-lipped) bandit!

These pants ($17.95) make me feel like a rock star

These pants ($17.95) make me feel like a rock star

I am not a skinny jeans person. I am curvy and I don’t want to look 17. Somehow, these H&M “treggings” (?) hug your hips and legs in all the right places. They don’t have a button at the waist so there is no awkward button bump there. The shiny black finish gives them an edgy, rock-star look. They are perfect with booties or a low heel. Both my boyfriend Dan and my always-stylish NYC yoga teacher bestie Bethany thought they were hot. I am buying a second pair.
